anna, anna, bo-banna

"What’s your favorite thing about yourself?"

A friend asked me this over wine in a hot tub nestled in the Colorado mountains some time last year. Normally, I’d say my freckles or my hair or some other cop-out answer, but instead, that time, I told the truth: my sentimentality and sense of humor. In that moment, I realized both the blessing-slash-curse of being a big ol’ softie and my knack for making my loved ones laugh have helped me personally, socially and, yes, even professionally.

I've spent my entire career in the entertaining and lifestyle spaces, where I've been fortunate to savor good food and fascinating stories alike. And whether I'm reporting, writing or editing, I draw on the aforementioned attributes to connect with my subjects, co-workers and audience; to invest myself fully in a topic; and to deftly add meaning and remarkability to seemingly inconsequential topics, or levity and joy to those that are just the opposite.

Review my resume and portfolio for more details—I hope you'll see what I mean.
